Raising Oak Cliff School Grant Program
Raising Oak Cliff (ROC) seeks to support Dallas ISD District 7 schools in ways that bring our community together and create meaningful connections among families, neighbors, and the schools that serve our community. Each year, we provide funding to schools based on applications from school leaders, teachers, club sponsors, and parent and student organizations.
Come back in early 2025 to learn more about our application timeline and process!
Please keep the following guidelines in mind as you prepare your application for funding:
The ROC board will review requests for funds at regularly scheduled intervals but cannot guarantee a time frame to reach a decision on any individual request.
If your request requires immediate attention, ROC’s fund request process is probably not the best avenue to secure funding, but we still want to help you if we can! Reach out to a board member, and let us see if there is anything we can do to help you.
Please do not submit requests for reimbursement for moneys that have already been spent or for events/projects that have already taken place.
Please indicate whether your request will fund the project in full, or whether other sources of fundraising will supplement your ROC request.
Please let us know of any supplemental funds (or commitments for funds) your organization has received from other outside sources in the last 12 months along with the amounts and uses of that money; this will not disqualify you from ROC funding but will be used to help us understand the needs of your organization.
Your request description should help us understand the sustainability of the program. Our fundraising and demands will change year to year. If you request funds for a project that will have ongoing operating costs, please explain any ideas you have for meeting those after the initial money from ROC and other sources.
ROC will consider all funding requests, but needs that are better met by a school’s operating budget will be given lower priority.
Requests should be for needs that fit within the mission of ROC; applicants should help explain how the fund request can further the goal of creating connections within the community and with ROC.
ROC will require receipts for all outlays to validate that expenditures match the request as presented. We understand that changes to the time frame are often outside an applicant’s control, but in case of a delay, we would expect an update from the applicant about progress that is being made.
